In 2015 international chocolatier Barry Callebaut acquired the nut processing company, American Almond. By 2016 they were ready to relocate the acquisition to a new facility. Building Services was brought on to manage the construction of the joint facility that would serve the processing needs of both American Almond and Barry Callebaut.
Retro-fit building projects come with their own unique set of challenges; a building must be altered from it's original configuration into a building appropriate for new uses. For the American Almond build this meant turning an old furniture factory into a facility fit for processing foods in a contaminant-free environment. Facilities handling food require a strict set of standards and a complex series of spaces and procedures. Projects like these require a fearless company with experience and a fine attention to detail. Building Services is that company.
American Almond cut the ribbon on their new facility in 2017. Building Services has gone on work on two other projects for the parent company, Barry Callebaut.
